RIP BRYAN DIAZ (April 25, 2005 – May 9, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:26 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 22, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent was found unresponsive in his room at Barry J. Nidorf Hall. He was then purportedly administered Narcan, a medication for overdoses.

Barry J. Nidorf serves as a temporary holding facility for juvenile detainees during their court proceedings. The 162-bed capacity facility has been operational since 1982 and sees about 2169 bookings annually.

This is under the jurisdiction of the L.A. County Probation Department.
