Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Byron Caliup.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Recent Mixed Drug Use, Obesity, Atrial Fibrillation

RIP BYRON CALIUP (April 8, 1960 – October 29, 2022)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:09 p.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
