Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 33-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Alejandro Lopez Garcia.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Chest

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday night.

The decedent had allegedly been swinging a baseball bat at cars and people near Normandie Avenue and Washington Boulevard when he was shot by LAPD.

Olympic Division personnel were on scene at around 6:25 p.m.
