(L.A.) Juan Diaz, 24, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 24-year-old Hispanic male that occurred on a street.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Juan Diaz.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Head
RIP JUAN DIAZ (April 13, 1995 – July 27, 2019)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 1:00 a.m.
The decedent was an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department Officer who was shot after telling a man to stop tagging a sidewalk.
Cristian Facundo, 27, of Temecula, was convicted in July 2026 for this crime. He is expected to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
