(L.A.) Daniel Barral, 34, Died in Lancaster Prison

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Latin American male that occurred at the California State Prison in Lancaster.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Daniel Barral.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m.

The decedent passed away at the Triage and Treatment Area (TTA) of California State Prison, Los Angeles County (CSP-LAC).

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 21/22, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
