Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 15-year-old Black male.

The coroner’s office identified the teenage boy as Darnell Jones.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Penetrating Gunshot Wounds of the Chest and Abdomen

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday afternoon in an emergency room.

The decedent had been shot outside of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in the 18600 block of Gridley Road in Cerritos.
