The coroner’s office identified the man as Christopher Washington.

Formal pronouncement of death was made early Monday morning who passed away at the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia.

The decedent had been found unresponsive by California Highway Patrol at around 12:30 a.m. in the driver’s seat of a silver Dodge Neon facing sideways and blocking the southbound HOV lane of State Route 14.
