Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old Caucasian male that occurred on a road.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jeff Engels. Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Mikula.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the decedent was a motorcyclist killed in a hit-and-run collision Tuesday evening in the 7000 block of Soledad Canyon Road, east of Briggs Road, near Acton.

Acton is an unincorporated census-designated place near the Antelope Valley.

The collision involved a white single-cab Chevrolet or Ford truck traveling westbound on Soledad Canyon Road, west of Briggs Road. The driver fled the scene.
