(L.A.) Grant Rhodes, 44, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Grant Rhodes. Born in L.A. County.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Complications of Metastatic Rectal Cancer

Other Significant Condition: Acute Renal Insufficiency

RIP GRANT CHARLES RHODES (July 30, 1981 – March 26, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

The decedent appears to have been in the custody of the state penitentiary system in Lancaster and was transported to an off-site hospital.

He seems to have been incarcerated for attempted murder. In June 2023, he used a boxcutter to slash a man’s neck in the City of Camarillo.

He filed a civil rights lawsuit against Ventura County in August 2025.
