(L.A.) Ryan Sutherland, 31, Died From Self-Mutilation

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Black male that occurred on a street in downtown L.A.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Ryan Sutherland. Born in L.A. County.
Manner of Death: Suicide
Cause of Death: Sharp-Force Injuries
RIP RYAN DEXTER SUTHERLAND (June 1, 1994 – March 7, 2026)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday morning.
The decedent apparently cut his own penis off, and then slashed his own throat. He was high on meth and MDMA.
His criminal history includes multiple arrests for marijuana possession spanning over a decade.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT-VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED⚠️⚫️ • MAN DEAD AFTER CUTTING OFF HIS OWN GENITALIA • Downtown Los Angeles • 03.07.2026 • At approximately 4am, LAPD officers responded to reports of a man engaged in self-harm near the Crypto arena. Officers arrived and located an unresponsive man in the roadway who appeared to have multiple lacerations. According to officers at the scene, the victims genitals were cut off. Authorities later confirmed the man cut off his own penis before collapsing across from the LA convention center and bleeding to death.

At approximately 4:45 a.m. on March 7th, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a medical emergency near Figueroa Street and Pico Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles, near the L.A. Convention Center.
Authorities located an adult male who had suffered severe self-inflicted injuries. The man was later found collapsed near a nearby 7-Eleven after walking from the area where the incident occurred.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Investigators found clothing and blood in the area believed to be connected to the incident. Due to the graphic nature of the injuries, portions of the video from the scene have been blurred.
