(L.A.) Rain McMillen-Walmsey, 22, Died on a Southwest Air Plane

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 22-year-old White/Caucasian male while on a Southwest Airlines flight.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Rain McMillen Walmsey.

STATUS: The decedent’s body has been released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.

Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.

If the DME has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take three to five months.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at an access gateway of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The decedent was a passenger on Southwest Airlines Flight 958 that was en route to LAX from Dallas when he suffered a medical episode.

The government investigator had initially spelled the decedent’s surname as Macmillan.
