(L.A.) Ezell Ford, 25, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old male of unspecified ethnicity that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ezell Ford.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP EZELL FORD (October 14, 1988 – August 11, 2014)

Mentally ill man shot in South Los Angeles by two police officers.

There was a security hold placed on his autopsy.

Ford’s autopsy showed he was shot once in the arm, once in the side and once in the back with a gun fired from such close range that it left a muzzle mark.

According to the LAPD, Ford wrestled an officer to the ground and tried to grab the officer’s gun. When that occurred, a second officer shot Ford twice while the officer struggling with Ford shot him in the back after reaching around him and firing a back-up gun.
