(L.A.) Aryan Boomwal, 20, Died in Woodland Hills

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 20-year-old male that occurred on a street in Woodland Hills.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Aryan Boomwal and listed his race/ethnicity as Middle Eastern or North African [sic].

Formal pronouncement of death was made early Tuesday morning.

The decedent was a passenger in a vehicle operated by a drunk driver traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a tree, resulting in the decedent’s death at the scene; the driver survived and was transported to the hospital.

A person was trapped inside a mangled vehicle after it collided with a tree on the 5900 block of North Valley Circle Boulevard, prompting a response from Los Angeles police and firefighters.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews worked to extricate at least one person who was reported trapped inside the car around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. At least one person was transported to a hospital in unknown condition, based on preliminary information.

Crews used extrication tools and chainsaws to cut through the tree to reach the vehicle and access the occupants.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known. Neighbors in the area reported frequently hearing vehicles traveling at high speeds along the street.
