Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence in Sylmar.
The coroner’s office identified the man as John Bocanegra.
Manner of Death: Suicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Head

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday morning.
The decedent shot his wife in the bathroom before turning the gun on himself. It was a failed murder-suicide.
His wife would die in the hospital on January 12.
