Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in South L.A.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Efrain Rivas Martinez.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday night.

The decedent was a homeless man who was riding his bicycle in the 700 block of East Vernon Avenue when he was fatally hit by a motorcycle at around 7:25 p.m.

LAPD said it was a hit-and-run, as the motorcyclist left the scene of the crash without rendering aid to his victim.
