Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old male of Latin American ethnicity that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Rigoberto Esquivel Cabrera.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Sequelae of Volvulus

Cause of Death B: Abdominal Adhesions

A volvulus is when a loop of intestine twists around itself and the mesentery that supports it, resulting in a bowel obstruction. Symptoms include abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, vomiting, constipation, and bloody stool. Onset of symptoms may be rapid or more gradual.
