Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred on a street.
The coroner’s office identified the woman as Carrie Romney.
Manner of Death: Suicide
Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday night.
LASD said they received reports of a dead body in the 24500 block of Town Center Drive in Valencia at around 8:25 p.m. This is the area where the Hyatt Regency hotel is located.
The decedent was born Carrie Elizabeth Dimas in Orange County. Her mother’s maiden name is Lillie. She married George Scott Romney, brother of U.S. Senator Mitt Romney, in 2016, becoming his third wife. In June 2025, he filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

The body of the sister-in-law of former U.S. Senator and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was found outside of a Santa Clarita multi-level parking garage, according to law enforcement sources.
Carrie Romney, 64, was identified as the person found deceased behind the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health in the 24500 block of Town Center Drive on Friday, shortly before 9:00 p.m.
Video captured by Key News Network from the ground and air shows the area sealed off with crime scene tape as deputies conduct an investigation.
UPDATE: In January 2026, the Daily Mail reported that Carrie Romney died after falling “backwards from a seated position” from the roof of a five-story garage near a Santa Clarita apartment complex.
The outlet said surveillance footage saw Romney pacing on the rooftop garage for an “extended period of time,” and a note was found in her car.
A toxicology test showed she was positive for the drug benzodiazepine alprazolam.
