(L.A.) Elizabeth Paz, 1, Died in Long Beach

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a one-year-old female.

The coroner’s office identified the child as Elizabeth Paz and listed her race/ethnicity as Asian + White/Caucasian.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Head Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The decedent was run over by her mother in the 5500 block of Ackerfield Avenue.

Long Beach PD said it happened at around 6:00 p.m.

The toddler’s mother was moving her vehicle in a carport area of an apartment complex. While the mother was moving her car, the child walked in front of the vehicle. The mother did not see her child, resulting in the child being hit by the vehicle.
