(L.A.) Lili Velarde, 41, Died on the 10 Freeway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on the 10 Freeway in Pomona.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Lili Velarde.

Height: 5 feet 2 inches / Weight: 180 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

California Highway Patrol said the decedent was hit by a vehicle at around 3:30 a.m. near the North White Avenue on-ramp.

She had been arrested by Pomona PD in January 2025 for misdemeanor trespassing.

Accident on Westbound 10 Wednesday morning. Possible hit-and-run.

At 3:41 a.m., L.A. County FD required the freeway to be closed at Garey.

At 3:45 a.m., Pomona PD shut down Westbound 10 at White Avenue on-ramp.

As of 4:30 a.m., estimated time of arrival for the coroner was 1.5 – 2 hours.

Area wasn’t cleared until 8:03 a.m.
