(L.A.) Romy Michael Lio, 56, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 56-year-old male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Romy Michael Lio.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Cocaine Effects

Other Significant Conditions: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes Mellitus

RIP ROMY MICHAEL LIO (1968 – June 9, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 26, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
