Case Number: 2025-08582
Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 66-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Cory White.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine
Other Significant Conditions: Acute Pyelonephritis and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease
RIP CORY WHITE (August 13, 1958 – May 23, 2025)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.
This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
Acute pyelonephritis is a severe bacterial infection of the kidney and a recognized cause of death in older adults, especially when compounded by comorbidities such as drug toxicity.
Meth use increases the risk and severity of acute pyelonephritis by causing direct kidney injury, vascular damage, and immunosuppression, which together predispose to infection.
