Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Byron Matheu.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Complications of Diabetes Mellitus

Other Significant Condition: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

RIP BYRON MATHEU (July 22, 1960 – March 1, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:07 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on April 25.
