Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old Caucasian female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Carmela Sardisco.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Acute Purulent Leptomeningitis

RIP CARMELA SARDISCO (May 25, 1956 – February 19, 2006)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 9:59 p.m.

Leptomeningitis, which is more commonly referred to as meningitis, represents inflammation of the brain’s subarachnoid space (i.e. arachnoid mater and pia mater) caused by an infectious or noninfectious process.
