(L.A.) Byung Chul Kim, 65, Died in Hacienda Heights

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old Asian male that occurred on the Pomona Freeway.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Byung Chul Kim.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Mechanical Asphyxia Due to Compression of Torso

RIP BYUNG CHUL KIM (March 15, 1959 – February 4, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injuired in a multi-vehicle crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Hacienda Heights.

California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at around 11:00 a.m. on the eastbound freeway at the Hacienda Boulevard off-ramp.

Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the location at 11:10 a.m. brought no one to a hospital.
