(L.A.) Gabriel Dejesus, 31, Died on the 5 Freeway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Latino male that occurred in Castaic.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Gabriel Dejesus.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Traumatic Injuries

RIP GABRIEL DE JESUS (July 13, 1993 – February 4, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The decedent was hit by a car as he was crossing the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway on foot.

California Highway Patrol had responded to a hit-and-run call at around 8:10 p.m. and found a pedestrian lying on the freeway near the Parker Road exit.

The vehicle involved in the collision was described as a Toyota Corolla model between 2014 and 2019 of unknown color, which fled the scene, continuing northbound on the freeway.
