Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the young woman as Katherine Sorto Ayala.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Torso

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:46 p.m.

The government investigator had initially given the decedent’s name as Katherine Sorta Ayala.
