(L.A.) Manuel Ortega, 60, Died in a Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old Latino male that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Manuel Ortega.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Conditions: Hypertension, History of Chronic Alcohol Use

RIP MANUEL ORTEGA (February 7, 1964 – December 28, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 5:10 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
