(L.A.) Crystal Benjamin, 48, Died From Drug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Crystal Benjamin and listed her race/ethnicity as Hispanic + Black.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphatemine

Other Significant Condition: Recent Cocaine Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 10:56 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
