(L.A.) Ronald Newsom, 49, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ronald Newsom.
Manner of Death : Natural
Cause of Death : Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease
Other Significant Condition : Obesity
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Phencyclidine (PCP) and Methamphetamine Intoxication

RIP RONALD NEWSOM (September 5, 1975 – October 17, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:39 p.m.
In March, the Department of Medical Examiner changed their initial conclusion that this was a natural death, presumably after the results of tox screening came back from the lab positive for drugs.
This is now considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
