(L.A.) Andre McKay, 42, Died From Overdosing on Kratom

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Andre McKay.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Mitragynine Intoxication

RIP ANDRE MCKAY (September 30, 1982 – October 29, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:41 p.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Mitragynine is the most abundant active alkaloid in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom.
