(L.A.) Richard Rafik, 68, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Richard Rafik.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Harris.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Heroin Intoxication

Other Significant Condition: Hypertension

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:47 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-November, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
