(L.A.) Alexander Chilel-Mendez, 20, Died From Substance Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 20-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Alexander Chilel-Mendez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Alcohol and Fentanyl

Other Significant Conditions: Borderline Cardiomegaly with Mild Biventricular Hypertrophy

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 4:30 a.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.
