RIP ALEXANDER CRUZ ARCHILA (March 14, 1978 – July 19, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late October, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab.
This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
Note that the government investigator had initially spelled the decedent’s name as Archilla.
The decedent went missing on July 14. He was last seen at around 3:00 p.m. that day in the staging area of the San Gabriel Canyon’s off-highway vehicle area.
His body was found five days later in the Angeles National Forest near Bear Creek Trail.
LASD had given his name as Alexander Fernando Archila.
