Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Black male that occurred at the L.A. River.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joseph Harris Jr.
Manner of Death: Natural
Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 5:21 p.m.
The Los Angeles River spans nearly 51 miles from its headwaters in the Simi Hills and Santa Susana Mountains to its mouth in Long Beach.
The river officially begins in Canoga Park at the confluence of Bell Creek and Arroyo Calabasas. It flows east through the San Fernando Valley, Downtown Los Angeles, and the Gateway Cities before emptying into San Pedro Bay in Long Beach.
