(L.A.) Tomas Verdin Avila, 73, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 73-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Tomas Verdin Avila.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Methamphetamine, History of Chronic Alcohol Use

RIP TOMAS VERDIN AVILA (September 18, 1950 – June 10, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 6:46 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on September 4, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab.

This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
