(L.A.) Donald Smith, 71, Died From Drug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 71-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Donald Smith.

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Cocaine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 2, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Donald Smith” in public records.
