(L.A.) Jose Piedra Palafox, 48, Died at an Encampment

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old Latino male that occurred at an encampment.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Piedra Palafox.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Alcohol Intoxication

Other Significant Condition: Methamphetamine Effects

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 4:06 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on June 30, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.
