Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Holmes Jr.
Manner of Death: Natural
Cause of Death: Volvulus of Cecum (Clinical)
Other Significant Conditions: Mental Retardation / Trisomy 10 (History)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 4:56 p.m.
Cecal volvulus is a rare form of intestinal obstruction. It occurs when the cecum, which is between the small bowel and colon, detaches from the abdominal wall and twists on itself.
