(L.A.) James Corbitt, 56, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 56-year-old male that occurred on a street in Chinatown.

The coroner’s office identified the man as James Corbitt.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

RIP JAMES CORBITT (October 6, 1967 – February 14, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 2:36 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injured by two vehicles near the intersection of North Broadway and Ord Street in the Chinatown neighborhood.

The first motorist returned to the scene and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Authorities continue their search for the second motorist, who committed a hit-and-run by not stopping.
