The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Amatwa Tafari.

Cause of Death: Traumatic Injuries

RIP AMATWA TAFARI (May 21, 1997 – February 11, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 1:36 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injured by an SUV in South Los Angeles.

The collision happened at around 1:30 a.m. near South Vermont Avenue and West 120th Street.
