(L.A.) Emily Bortee, 18, Died on a Hillside

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 18-year-old Black female that occurred on a hillside.

The coroner’s office identified the teen as Emily Bortee.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries and Sharp-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 9:02 a.m.

The decedent was found near a 605 Freeway on-ramp in the Industry-Pico Rivera area.

A week later, California Highway Patrol arrested Marvell Beroit, 26, in connection with her death. The Department of Medical Examiner published its dermination in this case in late August / early September.
