(L.A.) Barbara Scott, 72, Died in a Nursing Home

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 72-year-old Caucasian female that occurred in a nursing home.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Barbara Scott of Long Beach, California.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Blunt-Force Head Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 8:27 a.m.

Incident location: alley near 1075 Redondo Avenue, Long Beach, 90804

Place of death: nursing home at 3401 Cedar Avenue, Long Beach, 90807

The decedent was punched in the face on August 21 and ultimatedly passed from the injury less than a month later.

Lawrence Jackson, 20, was ultimately arrested for the crime.
