(L.A.) Victor Vergara, 41, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Hispanic male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Victor Vergara.

Manner of Death: Accident Natural Accident

Cause of Death A: Methamphetamine Intoxication Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage

Cause of Death B: Bleeding Esophageal Varices

Cause of Death C: Chronic Hepatitis with Liver Cirrhosis

Other Significant Conditions: Hypertension; Chronic Alcoholism with Cirrhosis of the Liver Chronic Alcoholism; Effects of Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 6:59 p.m.

In July 2023, the medical examiner massively changed the contents of this record. The ruling went from an accidental overdose of meth to a natural death from upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Cause B and Cause C were also added, and the phrase “chronic alcohlism with cirrhosis of the liver” was removed.

Then in 2024, the manner of death was again reverted to Accident and other changes were made to the list of causes.
