(L.A.) Benjamin Basua, 49, Died from Drug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old Latino male.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Benjamin Basua.

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:00 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 14, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, overdose.
