Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at Westminster Dog Park in Venice.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Zackery Melton.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Head

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
The decedent appears to have been a homeless man known as βTurdle.β

A fatal shooting late Wednesday night near the Westminster Dog Park in Venice has left one man dead and sparked a large-scale investigation and community mourning. The victim, known affectionately by locals as βTurtle,β was shot just after 10:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Pacific Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
