Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Black male that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Yves Oscar of Valley Stream, New York.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Torso

RIP YVES OSCAR JR. (September 20, 1982 – June 4, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 7:20 a.m.

The decedent exchanged gunfire with two security guards in the area of Washington Boulevard and Los Angeles Street at around 7:00 a.m. Paramedics were called at 7:03 a.m. One of the security guards suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was rushed to a local hospital.
