(L.A.) Yolanda Hernandez, 78, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 78-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Yolanda Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Traumatic Injuries

RIP YOLANDA HERNANDEZ (January 24, 1945 – December 9, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 5:38 p.m.

The decedent was fatally injured in Long Beach by a vehicle whose driver initially left the scene but returned and was arrested.

The incident happened at around 5:25 p.m. in the 2700 block of Atlantic Avenue.

Preliminary investigation suggests a vehicle driving southbound on Atlantic Avenue struck the pedestrian.

Ronald Quispe, 32, of Long Beach, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
