(L.A.) Val Hernandez, 56, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 56-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Val Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Heroin and Hydrocodone Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: Congestive Heart Failure

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 7:32 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 17, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
