UFC Fighter Darren Till Arrested in Spain After ‘Stealing Taxi, Trashing Hotel’

A Spanish-language news outlet is reporting that British mixed-martial-artist Darren Till has been arrested in Tenerife with a group of fellow tourists for allegedly trashing a hotel and stealing a taxi.

Till, who is signed to the MMA company UFC, is said to have been stopped by police after jumping in the cab and speeding off as the driver put his luggage in the boot.

The 26-year-old and others were said to have been staying in a lodging complex in which they broke furniture and emptied extinguishers.

After being expelled, his group reportedly went to another hotel in the upper area of El Duque, where they were not accepted. Till and another member of the group allegedly then stole a taxi cab that had arrived to pick them up, driving the vehicle away as the driver was at the rear of the cab, loading their bags.

The stolen car was intercepted by local police, who reportedly took Till and other members of the group into custody.

Till’s last appearance in the octagon saw him knocked out by American fighter Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC London in March.
