Airtel Plaza Hotel was part of Project Roomkey during the COVID panic, leasing rooms to provide temporary, emergency shelter.
After more than 40 years of operation, the Airtel announced its permanent closing in 2025.
The closure followed a breakdown in lease renewal negotiations between the property owner (RBABBS Investment Inc.) and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the city agency that owns the land.
